Jaykay Enterprises Forms JV with EOS to Offer 3D Metal Design & Printing for Indian Market – Products & Suppliers
With the aim of strengthening its leading position in the metal printing market segment, Jaykay Enterprises, part of the 140 year old diversified JK Group, has entered into a strategic partnership with the world leader in the 3D metal design and printing market, EOS. received, Germany. The joint venture will be operated through a new subsidiary called NeuMesh Labs Pvt Ltd. based in Bangalore. The new JV will have a lean and agile structure and be equipped with technical knowledge from EOS. Jaykay Enterprises also intends to invest in a print farm whose infrastructure and assets are owned by Jaykay Enterprises.
The JV will help Indian companies adapt metal 3D printing by offering EOS Additive Minds consulting topics in the field of Design For Additive Manufacturing. (DFAM) Part Screening and Selection, Topology Optimization and Business Case Generation. In addition, Jaykay Enterprises will invest in a print farm with options for on-site and off-site functions. This competence center will not only support Indian customers, but also support the global market.
Announcing the partnership, Abhishek Singhania, Additional Director, Jaykay Enterprises said, “Jaykay and EOS have significant brand equity in the marketplace. EOS is the global technology leader in industrial 3D printing of metals and polymers and we look forward to further developing the technology for India. The joint venture will address the growing need for metal printing in the defense, aerospace and healthcare industries. A large part of the metal 3D market in our country remains untouched. With ever-changing technology and the limitation on size and job rate in printing, companies are reluctant to invest in the technology. With EOS as a partner, we hope to overcome these limitations and make India independent. ”
Anand Prakasham, Country Head, EOS India, said, “Jaykay has a strong heritage and diversified portfolio with experience in 3D scanning, modeling and reverse engineering, and EOS is the global technology leader in metal 3D printing. Together we will serve the demand for high-end technology in metal 3D printing in India. We look forward to a fruitful and rewarding journey that lies ahead of us. “
Jaykay Enterprises has previously invested in Nebula 3D, which operates in the fields of scanning, modeling, reverse engineering, design and benchmarking. With this new company, Jaykay Enterprises will become an integrated player in the metal 3D printing market through its state-of-the-art manufacturing technology.
With metal 3D printing being a fairly young and under-explored industry in India, Jaykay Enterprises hired E&Y to work on a comprehensive project and strategy to understand the market potential. The study found that the current metal 3D printing market opportunity in India at 280 billion rupees may grow to 1,190 billion rupees by 2025, with aerospace and defense making the largest contributions.
The 3D printing market in India includes hardware, software and services. Popular materials used in 3D printing include polymers, metals, ceramics, sand, and cement, with metal being the fastest in terms of applicability and use. In general, 3D printing is used in manufacturing and related fields. The aerospace & defense, healthcare, oil & gas and automotive manufacturing sectors hold the maximum potential. The various benefits of adopting 3D printing include shorter lead times, better design precision, and also lower costs. By enabling state-of-the-art manufacturing in India, Jaykay Enterprise aims to reduce the government’s reliance on arms imports. 3D printing is a great replacement for multiple defense components with shorter procurement lead times and better design efficiency by combining multiple components or manufacturing complex geometries. It will also serve the healthcare sector through cheaper and customized implants.
The manufacturing facility for the print farm will serve as a one-stop shop and focal point for metal 3D printing services in the country. It will encourage the adoption of metal 3D printing by Indian companies, with the option of investing only EOS’s Digital 3D Printing Suite to create 3D printable data in a clipped format that can be shared directly with no copyright concerns or risk of tampering, outbound 3D printing cells for government defense and space customers who have sensitive data and prefer a printing center in their own facility; Bundled offer of Print Farm and Digital 3D Printing Suite to increase awareness and experimentation with 3D printing.
