Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honor Society, invites you to apply for your position as Executive Director. Phi Alpha Theta is one of the largest honorary student societies in the United States and has over 500,000 members in 990 chapters nationwide.
Successful applicants must have demonstrated business management skills, including experience in financial accountability, operations management, nonprofit regulations, and public relations. A bachelor’s degree in any field with appropriate management experience is required. Membership in and a record of service for Phi Alpha Theta is a plus. The committee encourages applications from candidates both inside and outside higher education.
The position is currently at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, although the organization’s headquarters may move to another location on campus at some point in the future. Unless an applicant is a current faculty member at the University of South Florida, that position does not include teaching responsibility or faculty membership at the University of South Florida.
The Executive Director has an unlimited term of office of 6 years and reports directly to the elected Board of Directors of Phi Alpha Theta. The salary corresponds to the qualifications. The examination of the applications begins on May 15th. The position remains open until it is filled.
