It has won the No. 6 Kusama Parachain auction spot, according to the official announcement by the Polkadot-centered protocol team KILT.

Now that the protocol can use Kusama (KSM) mechanisms, KILT is finally going live on the mainnet. The protocol team began onboarding members of its global collator network.

Collators, the gatekeepers of KILT’s decentralized identity management system, will store and secure data on the KILT blockchain and add new blocks to the network.

The next stage of project progress includes the first runtime upgrade, the introduction of governance mechanisms and a treasury. All elements of governance are then tested internally.

After all stress tests, the KILT functionalities – including decentralized identifiers (DIDs) and verifiable login information – are available to customers.

Then the project team removes the sudo key, a purpose-built centralization element required to maintain the integrity of the KILT protocol during the early stages of its development.

The team is confident that the above steps will be completed in the next 2-3 months.
