OKCoin officially launches Ethereum (ETH) on the stock exchange »CryptoNinjas

The Chinese exchange OKCoin will officially activate deposit and withdrawal services for Ethereum (ETH) on May 31st at 10:00 p.m. The ETH trading services will be officially available on June 1st at 12:00.

OKCoin has just published the following statement:

Dear OKCoin users,

OKCoin was founded with a commitment to bringing the best product, technology and trading experience to our users. In recent years we have received frequent requests to publish a wide variety of digital assets on our exchange. Our stance as a mature digital asset trading platform serving millions of users around the world has always been cautious about adding new digital assets that have not yet been fully tested by the market.

Lately, OKCoin users have taken an interest in the development of Ethereum (ETH) and Ethereum Classic (ETC), and there is an increasing demand for OKCoin to enable ETH and ETC trading. For the past two years we have been constantly reviewing the feasibility of listing ETH and ETC based on factors such as technical maturity, innovation, market liquidity and compliance.

Today we’re officially launching ETH on the OKCoin exchange. Ethereum has a current circulation of 90 million, with ETH hitting a market capitalization of over USD 10 billion and a total hashrate of more than 25,000 GB. Hundreds of applications are now being built on top of Ethereum and a growing number of applications are using smart contracts that run on the Ethereum blockchain.
More than 20 world-leading financial and technology companies, including JPMorgan Chase, CME Group, BNY Mellon, Thomson Reuters, Microsoft, Intel and Accenture, have formed the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) to define Ethereum applications at the enterprise level. China’s Tencent, Zhong An Insurance and other well-known companies are also investigating various uses of the blockchain. The United Nations has just launched its first large-scale Ethereum humanitarian distribution test.

On this occasion we are asking BTC core developers and relevant miners to work together and resolve any outstanding technical issues, enable Segwit and solve BTC’s scaling issues. Our industry and technology history offers us many warnings, be it the IE browser or the Nokia cell phone. No matter how dominant you are, how much market share you have, if you don’t use the latest technology and keep improving the user core value proposition, time will pass by. Ultimately, digital asset exchanges around the world can only advocate the best technology and aim to provide the best trading experience for our clients.
