SEATTLE – DK Metcalf established himself as one of the fastest players in the NFL with his famous pursuit of Budda Baker, the Arizona Cardinals’ security officer.

The Seattle Seahawks Wide Receiver will now test its speed against sprinters.

He participates in the US Athletics Golden Games and Distance Open, which will be held in Walnut, California on Sunday. On the USATF website, Metcalf is listed among those participating in the 100-yard line.

Metcalf hinted at his attendance at the event in a tweet on Monday.

In addition to playing soccer and basketball at Oxford High School in Mississippi, the 6-foot-4,229-pound Metcalf was a pre-eminent hurdler and long jumper. He ran a 40-yard run of 4.33 seconds on the 2019 Scouting Combine and hit a top speed of 22.64 mph while chasing Baker last October, according to the NFL Next Gen Stats. At the time, this was the second fastest speed an NFL player had achieved in 2020.

Metcalf made the Pro Bowl last season after catching 83 passes for a franchise record of 1,303 yards.
