The San Jose Sharks have won two games against Arizona, a high point in an otherwise terrifying series of games in which the team remained winless in eight consecutive games and lost nine out of ten games. They now face the Colorado Avalanche in four consecutive games, a team they have beaten only once in four attempts this season.

Let’s take a look at this matchup, the fifth of eight between San Jose and Colorado, from a betting perspective in our betting preview Sharks vs. Avalanche with odds, tips and predictions.

The Avalanche was on cruise control for most of March and April but suddenly hit a pretty big boost in speed. They lost three games in a row for the first time in the entire season and are six points behind first place in Vegas. If the avalanche is to make the necessary run to capture the Golden Knights for the crown of the West Division, they must cure their diseases quickly – and frequently – against the sharks.

Sharks vs. Avalanche Betting Pick

The Sharks are technically still alive in the playoff race for number 4 in the West, but they need a lot of help. Instead, they are focused on playing for Jobs for the 2021-22 season.

The Sharks goal differential this season is minus 34, the eighth worst in the NHL. The Sharks scored 36 goals in the April 14th games, but 10 of those goals came in their last two wins against Arizona, meaning they averaged less than two goals per game prior to those games.

They have now scored 49 goals this month, an average of 3.50 goals per game.

The Avalanche, on the other hand, still has the top offense in the NHL despite their recent bouts against St. Louis and Vegas and has only looked to allow goals while starting goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer has recovered from a fight with COVID. 19th

Grubauer is set to make his first start tonight after missing five games in a row. The Avalanche had been without strikers Mikko Rantanen and Joonas Donskoi in the last few games, also because of COVID. They too should be back to reinforce an already serious offense.

Bets we like with an avalanche win

Nathan MacKinnon OVER 0.5 goals (+116, fan duel) or MacKinnon 2+ points (+130, DraftKings)

We told you we weren’t going to stop betting MacKinnon until he stops scoring. His point streak is now at 15 games. He has at least one point in 22 of 23 games. He has multiple points in more than half of these games. He will have his running mate Rantanen with him again this evening. So expect a great game from MacKinnon.

In this case, there is value in only scoring one goal. Two points are of value. Heck, it’s -375 on DraftKings for him to snap a point, and we’re telling you it’s worth it. It might even be worth a flight to take the +550 on DraftKings to get three or more points on it. That’s how much we like MacKinnon tonight, now that he’s back home with his favorite linemate.

Bets we like with a shark win

Evander Kane OVER 0.5 points (-112, FanDuel)

We don’t think there is a chance in Hades that the Sharks will win this game. But Evander Kane is a streaky player and is in the middle of one of his streaks. Kane has three goals and three assists in his last three games. In the last nine games he had a total of only three points. It is pretty close to making money here with just recording a point to make money. We recommend riding its wave.

Bets we like regardless of the outcome

Avalanche – 1.5 and UNDER 6.5 targets (+225, DraftKings)

We were trying to find a value bet on a game that we are pretty confident about. The best combination that can make you a little more bang for your buck is to hit the Avalanche win by more than 1.5 goals, poke the over / under line by half a puck, and then the under To score 6.5 goals.

This allows Colorado to improve their score, play Grubauer as he plays, and even gives Kane the ability to keep up his streak while you make money. Perfect storm, right?

Sharks vs. avalanche forecast

Colorado are an excellent side on home ice, where they have played 13-1-2 in their last 16 games. This is only the fourth home game this month and the first since April 12th. You can bet they look forward to standing in front of their fans again and getting back on track. Meanwhile, the Haie are 2-7-1 in their last 10 away games. We really don’t think this one will be near.

Selection: Make Avalanche 5, Sharks 1
