DANVILLE – Terra Dillon, 47, of Danville left this life at 5:25 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at her residence.
Terra was born on January 8, 1967 in Lafayette, Indiana. She was the daughter of Terry and Tomma McBride Craycraft.
Terra married Lance Dillon on August 27, 1988 in Danville. He survived.
Her parents, Terry Craycraft in Ohio and Tomma Craycraft from Danville, also survived; one daughter, Ashlee (Brian) Weidenburner of Rossville; and two sons, Lance A. Dillon II of Tempe, Arizona, and Zane Dillon of Danville.
Also surviving is a brother, Timmy Craycraft; and two grandchildren, Dalton and Drew Weidenburner of Rossville.
It was preceded by the death of a brother, Tiawon Craycraft.
Terra graduated from Danville High School and continued her education at the University of Illinois.
She was a second lieutenant in the Army Reserves.
After graduating from UI, she had a strong desire to practice law and received her PhD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Terra began her private practice in Danville in 2004. She was the secretary of the Vermilion County Bar Association. She was passionate about her career, but her greatest passion of all was her family.
She loved to travel and watch her children play on their various sports teams. She enjoyed skydiving and had several jumps to her name.
A celebration of Terra’s life will be held on Thursday, March 13th at 10am at the Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville. Pastor Michael Heidle will officiate. Cremation rites are granted according to Terra’s wishes. Your family invites you to a meet and share time on Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
Instead of other expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Schlarman Academy on their behalf.
