The Capital City Showcase takes place on Friday, May 19th at 8:30 p.m. at the IOTA Club & Café on 2832 Wilson Blvd in Arlington VA.
The Capital City Showcase is the variety show with the best comedians, musicians and performing artists from the DMV. For over six years, the showcase has featured DC’s best performers of all kinds, including stand-up comedians, improvisation troops, bands, acoustic singer-songwriters, and hip-hop artists.
The showcase in May offers:
COMEDY HEADLINER: Rahmein Mostafavi
Rahmein has been entertaining the DC area with his comedy for over a decade. He has performed in established venues across the country: locally at DC Improv, the Kennedy Center and Warner Theaters, and nationally at Caroline’s on Broadway and Richmond Funny Bone. He has shared the stage with acts like Dave Attell, Bert Kreischer and Artie Lange and has appeared on FOX, PBS and Sirius XM Radio.
MUSICAL HEADLINER: Caustic Casanova
Caustic Casanova is a nationwide touring DC-based rock trio that has been an integral part of the scene for the past five years. They have played locally at venues like The Black Cat and nationally at Austin’s SXSW. Her 2012 release, Someday You Will Be Proven Correct, received acclaim from Punk News and The Onion AV Club.
This fantastic showcase will also feature comedy by Elahe Izadi and Jon Yeager and music by Cassie Urbany.
