TikToker’s “Mini-Mining Rig” cryptocurrency uses free electricity at Starbucks; Only requires laptop, USB

A bitcoin and cryptocurrency “mini-mining rig” has gone viral on TikTok as it only uses Starbucks’ free stream for the user to successfully perform operations. All you need is a laptop and a USB cable to connect the two devices, and mining is possible anywhere. The TikToker already has 2.7 million views of the video.

Bitcoin or cryptocurrency mining generally has a “negative impact” on business as it uses a tremendous amount of electricity to function. This was the main focus why Tesla and Elon Musk criticized Bitcoin and stopped trading on its platform.

A video by @howmuchchannel aka Idan Abada from TikTok showed that “portable mining” can be done with a minimal setup. Here the TikToker showed the “mini mining rig” he designed and even used “free Starbucks” electricity to operate his setup.

This shows one of the first glimpses of an acceptable mining rig for professionals without the need for a massive setup.

Here the TikToker demonstrates how only a laptop and its mini mining rig can successfully mine Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The rig consists of 10 USB removable devices and is cooled by a mini fan.

To avoid damaging the USB devices, Abada removes them every time it saves them on the go and reconnects them when they are in use. Adaba’s entire setup costs a whopping $ 875, which is a lot of money for a rig.

However, it saves electricity because it can be used at free charging stations such as a Starbucks.

Is This Mini Mining Rig More Economical?

In Abada’s video, he talked about how much a standard bitcoin mining rig is very expensive in terms of power consumption. The more energy an object consumes, the more natural resources are consumed. And power generation comes mostly from coal mining and other harmful processes.

A mini mining rig can help offset electricity costs and reduce electricity consumption, making it more economical. It’s not that “eco-friendly” though, as it still uses a lot of electricity and only charges at free charging stations like Starbucks.

Mini mining rig vs. standard home mining setup

A standard setup is still the most ideal for Bitcoin mining, especially if users want to continue their rate as they search for coins online. A mini mining rig, on the other hand, may be expensive and would add additional maintenance costs to a user, but it is suitable for an “on-the-go” lifestyle.

A portable device would not harm you, especially if you do not have a permanent place of residence or are constantly moving due to work requirements and the like.
