Ukrainian monobank enables customers to trade Bitcoin – Fintech Bitcoin News

Monobank, a mobile bank operating in Ukraine, has announced new products and services that will allow users to trade cryptocurrencies and stocks. Offers include a Bitcoin card, which the online banking platform will launch later this month.

Monobank offers Bitcoin Card and Crypto Exchange to users

Until the end of July, customers of the monobank can buy and sell cryptocurrency with a new bank card that supports crypto transactions. The company’s co-founder, Oleg Gorokhovskyi, announced this on Telegram.

The Ukrainian mobile bank is also planning to roll out an integration with an undisclosed cryptocurrency exchange. According to sources cited by Forklog, the monobank will do the job in partnership with the crypto trading platform Whitebit.

Gorokhovskyi further emphasized that the development phase of the project has already been completed. Currently, the monobank is just waiting for approval from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), the country’s central bank.

This fall, the mobile bank will offer investors the opportunity to trade company shares through a US-based platform, which is still to be announced. The Monobank team is currently working on introducing eSIM support to a wireless service provider and improving its acquiring services. Both initiatives will be presented in August and the report will be detailed.

In February, Oleg Gorokhovskyi announced that he had “a fairly large Bitcoin portfolio” and advised his friends and followers on Facebook to buy cryptocurrency. At that time, the entrepreneur said he was convinced of Tesla’s $ 1.5 billion crypto purchase that “Bitcoin is going nowhere”.

Later that month, the monobank stopped supporting Binance’s SEPA transfers, citing restrictions on foreign correspondent banks. The leading cryptocurrency exchange expanded its presence in Ukraine and launched an advertising campaign in major Ukrainian cities in June.

Last year, the Eastern European country was ranked among the world’s leading crypto users, but the Kiev government has yet to put in place comprehensive regulations on cryptocurrencies and related industries. A revised draft law on “On Virtual Assets” is to be voted on this summer.
