The event is free and gives Northland drivers traveling west – and there are many every winter – a chance to brush up on safety in mountainous driving conditions.
The seminar will be led by avalanche expert Mike Duffy, a nationally recognized expert on surviving avalanches (avalanche1.com). Participants are encouraged to bring their transceiver, shovel, probe, and backpack to the seminar.
